Q. How do I get my photo to you for photo restoration?

A. You can send photo prints to us by mail or email or send digital files via email.  Contact us For packing and shipping details, refer to: Packaging & Shipping Recommendations.  

 

Q.  Does it make a difference if I send the original photo or send a digital copy by email?

A.  It is always best, and we prefer, to work with the original picture so that we can scan it at a high resolution. The better the digital copy we have to work with the better the results will be. However, if for some reason you can not send us your print very good results can be achieved if we are provided with a good quality color scan file (300-600 dpi) by email. Q.  I have a very small photo. How large can it be printed?

A.  This is determined by an combination of factors, but  very small photos generally can be scanned into an improved digital fromat.

 

Q.  I don't like the idea of sending my precious photos or slides by mail and I don't have a scanner. Is there another option?

A.  Yes. You should be able to obtain a good quality scan from a local photo copy store. Have them scan it at 600 dpi and copy it to a computer disk or CD.  You may then either pack and mail the disk to us, or email it  as an attachment via high speed internet email.  Address information

  

Q. If I send an original photo or slide is it safe? Do you alter the original?

 A. We take every precaution to make sure that your photos are safe with us. We will make NO alterations to your original.  The original print or slide will be scanned and converted to a digital version.  All restoration work is done to the digital copy only.  We will return your prints in their original form.  On the other hand, we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage incurred during shipping.

  

Q.  Is it safe to use the mail system?

A.  The US and Canadian postal services are very reliable. Tracking and tracing features are available at the post office for a small additional fee. If you do not want to take your chance with postal shipping, you may send us a good quality scan copy (300 or 600 dpi) of your prints by email, or CD instead.

  

Q.  What will I receive back when I place an order?

A.  You will receive by mail, your original photo(s) or slides.  You will also receive a digital copy of your print(s) and slide(s) on CD. Digital information.   In addition, if you are interested we can discuss the possibility of selecting some of your slides or photos to be displayed as a digital photo slide show with music in the background, and saved in a TV ready DVD format. Q.   How do I place an order?

A.  Whether you are interested in restoring damaged or aging photos or slides, or having a presentation developed that commemorates a special event or person, the process begins with communication between you and us.  We will need to clarify the specifics of what you would like done. Most people start by sending us an email with a description of quality and number of photo(s) that they wish to have restored or archived, or the slide show concept they wish to have expanded. Address. They usually ask about price and how long it will take to be completed. They often include a sample of the photos involved. We may respond with request for additional information via email or phone until we are sure of exactly what you want.  If you decide to proceed with the project you will forward the prints and slides to us and we will begin the process.

 

Q.  How long does it take to restore a damaged print?

A.  Obviously, it will depend on the amount of damage. A single photo with moderate damage will be completed in one or two days. In some more extreme cases it can take longer. Q.  Can you work with slides and negatives?

A. Yes. We can scan your slides and/or negatives and make the make the same improvements we make for photographic prints.

 

Q.  What is the advantage of copying photos and slides to CD

A. Photographic prints, slides and negatives deteriorate with age. Digital copies archived to CD will not not change with time. You will be able view  photograph stored on CD on your computer or in some cases them may viewed as a DVD slide show. Once we have copied your digitized slides and prints to a CD you may make copies of the CD and distribute your entire photo collection to friends and family. You will also be able to store your important photos in a safe place such as a bank vault.  More information.

  

Q.  How much time does it take to complete a Slideshow

A.  Once we receive your photos, our process generally takes less than two weeks. More information.  We then mail you your Slideshow and the other material you have forwarded to us (photos, music, video, etc).  This will take another 3-5 days. The total time for the process is about 3 three weeks.  You may contact us.  If you need a slideshow created in less then three weeks, and arrangements can be made, we will be glad to expedite the process.
